Best Beach in Koh Samui

I'm looking for thoughts on what the best beach is on Koh Samui. Looking for fine, white sand and swimmable water. The less crowded the better. thanks!

I think Bob might be joking. The beaches along the north, such as Bophut and Maenam are steep, and some, such as Big Buddha, are quite muddy. The beaches on the south side of the island are mostly rocks, and there aren't that many hotels there.

Frankly, the best beach is around the north end of Chaweng on the east coast. The Muang Samui and Sareeraya are the nicer places in this area.

Also, the Anantara Lawana (note it's the Lawana, not Bophut) has a very nice beach at the far north end of Chaweng.

Crystal Bay! Do a google search for Crystal Bay Resort Samui. It is on a mostly private beach. The place is not expensive. The beach is really beautiful, and yes, swimmable. There are limestone rocks in the water that you can climb onto... Nice place!
