Best and lightest surge protector....suggestions?
 

I have looked at all the choices and not sure on the number of joulles I should have?? Any recommendations? We just have a phone, camera , and laptop to charge. Thanks for your help!

We just bought the most AMAZING surge protector when we were in Bangkok -- It was a 220v surge protector with a European plug for the wall, but the surge protector accommodated only US plugs. Now, we can plug it in anywhere in the world, but don't have to carry along all the small adapters for each device. Not super light, but way efficient!
Am interested in what others use too...

Why do you not need adapters for places that don't use the European plug?

I've used a Belkin mini surge protector for the past couple of years and feel good about using them especially in places that generate their own electricity - not stable amps or voltage! I carry a multi head plug along as well as some of the hotels in this area use wall sockets that are often not the norm for their country's.

Thanks for your suggestions, I can always count on the Fodor's forum for help....I just ordered protector from Amazon.

@sf7307 - you're right. we do need one adapter for the end of the surge protector, but i used to have to carry around 10 for each device. crazy i know. :-)
