Beijing/Shanghai - Best Business Hotel?

So I'm back from my Shanghai/Singapore vacation (and I promise to finish my trip report soon!) but now I have to host a trip to Beijing and Shanghai in November with a top executive from my company. Any suggestions as to the best business hotels under US$300/nt? Here's our short list so far:

Beijing - Peninsula Palace, China World (Shangri-La), St. Regis

Shanghai - St. Regis, Oriental Riverside Plaza (Convention Center), Grand Hyatt

I normally wouldn't pay $$$$ for myself, but feel obliged to "upgrade" a bit in this case. Your top choice (or alternative)?

Both the St. Regis and Grand Hyatt in Shanghai are fine. The St. Regis is a bit quieter most of the time. The Grand Hyatt has the view and more things going on in terms of restaurants, bars, etc. at the hotel. I'd probably pick the Hyatt if you're hosting first time visitors to Shanghai. I haven't stayed at the Oriental Riverside. Is Pudong where you need to be?

I usually stay in Puxi but I'm attending a business conference for a few days and the Oriental Riverside (OR) is the host hotel with a discounted rate (US$140) for conference attendees, so I could either:
1. stay at the OR the whole time
2. stay at the OR during the conference and move to a different hotel
3. stay somewhere else altogether and taxi to the conference

The Grand Hyatt in Shanghai is one of my favorite hotels in the entire world. Gorgeous rooms, excellent service, great restaurants and bars, and the best views.

The Ritz Carleton is quite nice, too but it's much more traditional. The service is fantastic.

You cant go wrong with the Peninsula Palace Beijing. Luxurious, centrally located and lounges to sit and relax or do business. It was also relatively inexpensive for a 5* hotel.
