Beijing late Oct-early Nov.

What type of weather should I expect this time of year in Beijing? I know it is hard to tell weather in advance, but I am not planning on taking winter clothes along....I will bring sweater/light jacket/hat. I arrive Shanghai 10/22, perhaps I should start in Beijing then Shanghai?

You can always buy warmer clothes in China, they are inexpensive.

Now that's a great idea. Shanghainese. You have been most helpful with many of your responses. Thanks again!

It is cool at night and in the early morning with About 15 degree Celsius and warm in the rest of the day with about 25 degree Celsius.

These figures must come from China Daily.

The historic data is that the average temperature in October is 13C and in November 5C. Average highs are 18C and 9C, and average lows 8C and 0C.

In general the weather is very dry indeed, and as you get into November there's a build-up of static. Winds often keep the skies clear and blue, but do not bring sand as the spring winds do.

Overall it's comfortable enough, but higher ground, such as on a trip to the Great Wall, will be quite chilly.

Its chilly autumn weather. Shanghai I had a light jacket this time of year but Beijing was colder and a coat was needed.
