Beijing hotel
 

Hello! We're thinking about spending a week in August in Beijing and need recommendations for a centrally located hotel for less than $125US per night for a double. We've never been to China and won't be on a tour, so any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

We were in Beijing 7 years ago and will be there in June at the end of a trip. We stayed at the Palace and are staying there again. It is a top luxury hotel in an excellent location. If you read the tour books you will think it far to expensive. However we have a reservation made on the website for a room with "grand,deluxe queen bed" including breakfast for $125 per night. <BR>If you can get this rate, I strongly recommend it. If not, try some of the other top hotel websites for cheap rates. Beijing is a wonderful city, easy to walk around and 7 years ago, very friendly. I asume that is still the case. Paige -<BR><BR>I stayed at the Palace Hotel about a year and a half ago and agree that it would be an excellent choice. It really is a perfert location, with little shops and lots of restaurants nearby. Also close to the main shopping street in downtown Beijing, and walking distance to the Forbidden City. It's a five star hotel, with large marble bathrooms with fog-free mirrors, lush robes and slippers, etc.<BR>The desk staff spoke English and the Concierge desk was very helpful.<BR>Martha<BR>
