Been to Sri Lanka?
 

Hey guys have anyone been to Sri Lanka? Do you think its a good place to visit during a short holiday? If so What are the best places to travel to? I want details please

Yes, I've been to Sri Lanka. But I don't think it is a great place for a short holiday. There is so much to do and see. I wouldn't go unless I had at least 10 days on the ground in the country. The Cultural Triangle is a must, IMO, and we loved tea country. Lots more, but you will need to do your own research to decide what is important to you.

We really enjoyed Sri Lanka though we had to limit our visit to the center and points south from there due to limited time.

Polonnaruwa, Dambulla, the temple at Kandy during a pilgrimage were highlights. Enjoyed a couple of days cooling off in the tea country (friend's house but the whole area is peaceful). The beaches in the south and Galle were worth the time too.

one of the main problems is the time it takes to get from one place to another, even though they look quite close on the map.

but it depends how long you have and what you want to see. if you have a few days, Colombo and the beach would be more or less the limit; in a week you could do Colombo, the beach and Galle, and in 10 days you could see Colombo and at least part of the Cultural Triangle, and possibly Galle as well.

We just got back from Sri Lanka -see my trip report Depending on your preferences for vacation, there is a lot to see. Cultural Triangle deserves at least 3-4 days. Tea plantations at least 2-3 days or more. The south is also great and needs another few days. How much time do you have?
