Banyan Tree Phuket?

We are trying to finalize plans to visit Thailand in February. We are already staying 3 night in Bangkok at the Oriental, 2 night in Angor Wat at the Royal Angor, 4 nights in Krabi at the Rayavadee. We are trying to decide where to stay in Phuket. We are leaning towards Banyan Tree. Has anyone stayed there recently? How far is the resort to the beach? Any other comments or suggestion are appreciated. Thanks

Lisa,

I am an owner of a Jacuzzi and Pool double bed room at the Banyan Tree in Phuket so perhaps I can be of some help.

There are a variety or room or bungalow type at the Banyan Tree. The recently completed rooms, or bungalows, with ocean view are very nice there. The bedroom is built on a pond with a glass floor so that you can see the lotus beneath you.

This is not a resort that is right next to the beach but in a way it is nicer that way. It usually take about 5 minutes to walk through the resort ground to get to the beach and once you're there it's quite private and yet you still have the services(for drinks or snacks) from the resort.

The spa is excellent at the Banyan Tree and the pool is quite nice.

Enjoy!

I second that. Banyan Tree is the nicest resort in Phuket. To me, it even beats Chedi and Amanpuri cos of its beautiful landscaped surroundings.

I recently came back from our two weeks stay in Banyan Tree in phuket.
To add to the past postings: you don´t have to walk to the beach (only if you like), because one of the hotel´s electric buggies will bring you there in a minute. It felt as if the resort is "on the beach", really no disadvantage, you will like it,
have a nice holiday
