BillT, The water problem was ridiculous it waas in the afternoon and I wanted to take a quick shower but the water was yellow. Called them up and they assured us the water will be fine after we get back from dinner. It was the same! But I suspect the whole hotel had the problem, thats why they didn't change our rooms

As I indicated this has happened a number of times in the past- as reported on this forum. I do not believe this has ever happened at the Penn- probably because it is a new hotel and the water piping is new. I can only sur ise that on occasion there is some river seepage into thier water system. Pipes must be really old.
If this happened to me my wife would tell me to book us into another hotel- she would not tolerate that situation - so I'm reluctant to book the Oriental as my luck would have it - if I did book there I might be unlucky and have this problem!

I've probably spent several months at the Oriental over the last 20 years and never had yellow water but I can assure you I would NOT be happy if I did. I'll have to ask the next time I'm there what causes it and why -- and also what they are doing about. I wonder if it was caused by something they did during the renovation.

they forgot to tell people that on certain days the water in the hotel comes from the river....haha...each and every hotel has problems from time to time...i guess it depends on how they handle the complaints that seperate the men from the boys...

shane---hope you got the pics...they are not the best...just the only ones i have on digital..

we had our first junior suite this last trip for one of our stays...i'm not sure you will be all that happy with its size for the 4 of you....ours was not rectangular, but sort of odd shapped...and it had a fence (wrong description but you will get the idea) that was 30 inces high and ran from near the bed headboard towards the sort of seperated the sofa/desk area from the bed area...i guess the sofa must be a bed so i guess that would will not be any too large...maybe they will upgrade you??? you could ask nicely for the biggest one...

are you a marriott F/F...if not apply right now and that may help...also apply for one of their credit cards and you get silver status automatically and that will help...

the hotel is not owned by marriott but by an american ex-pat...
