Happy Holidays, Fellow Asia Board Fodorites!
Just wanted to wish everyone here a wonderful and safe Holiday season -- wherever in the world you may be.
2013 was an embarrassment of riches for us travel-wise, including one of the best trips of our lives so far (only made the better by the company of the legendary smeagol and muffin).
We hope that 2014 brings even more of the same...not just for us, but for all of you!
Happy Holidays, fellow Fodorites! Be well!

Happy holidays whether you celebrate something or nothing. I wish we were in balmy weather instead We are in rural Norfolk in the UK, which is summed up by family, pubs, walking and lots of wet dogs! Looking forward to meeting some of you in Bangkok soon. We're heading to Bangladesh next week though the election news looks a bit hairy!
Safe travels wherever 2014 takes you...

Happy holidays to all from a seasonably chilly NYC! I have gotten so much help from this board for our trip to India earlier this year and again for our upcoming trip to SE Asia. I'm also looking forward to meeting up with some of you in Bangkok in a few weeks--
Paule
(PS- that's "Paula" with an 'e' at the end!)

We were in Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Miyajima and Osaka in November for two weeks (as noted, traveling with smeagol and smeagol's +1)
Haven't gotten around to a TR yet. Hopefully I'll be able to. Between entertaining for the Holidays, work and planning for the next trip, time is definitely at a premium right now.

Greetings from the Gold Coast in Oz. It's a balmy 26 C here, but overcast. We may be in for a spectacular summer storm later on (cue terrified doggy).
Paule, I've followed along with some of your planning, seems like we'll be about 3 days behind you from Bangkok to Chiang Mai/Rai then the Luang Say boat to Luang Prabang.
We did 3 weeks in India in March 2012, in a similar style trip to yours (didn't know about Fodors then, so largely winged it)
We are keeping options for Bangkok open due to the current political situation. Maybe we'll cross paths in the north of Thailand, if so, we'd love to catch up.

Holiday Greetings from Anguilla, home of the worlds most beautiful beaches. Best wishes for safe travels to all in 2014. We are looking forward to our trip to Borneo this spring (and a brief stopover in Tokyo).
