Bangkok Taxi - Easy Taxi!
 

There have been a few postings with regard to finding a taxi in Bangkok or about the driver using the meter etc. I have recently started using an app on my phone which will call a taxi for you automatically and the driver will use the meter without you having to tell him so. The only drawback is a small charge for using the service and the charge is currently 20 Baht on top of what is on the meter.

Bob I'm afraid the app is only available for smart phones. I recall that, while you are smart, your phone isn't.

I've tried it a couple of times and it didn't take longer than minutes.

Another reason to like my Google smart phone that I use in Bangkok! Thanks, hanuman.

Last night we were on New Road trying to get back to the Anatara Riverside. The driver had no clue, and even after a phone call to a friend he was still clueless. Bob directed him to the hotel. Do the drivers of these taxis know BKK better? There are very few with GPS in the cab.

Most of these drivers are from the country side and a lot of them don't know Bangkok well. Soon we might even have foreign cab drivers!

I think I will apply for the job, but I will need a police escort...
