Bangkok Restaurant
If I only had one night to eat in Bangkok, where should I go? Nothing is off limits - type of cuisine, price, or location does not matter.
|
Hmm... that's a little like asking what you'd like for your last meal.
Options I can think of -- Scirroco (more for the view than the food), Lanna Thai at Face, Maha Naga and Tongue Thai. |
I'd do something on the river so at least you get a sense of Bangkok -- the Normandie for outstanding french food with a view, Lord Jim for sophistication, seafood and a view, the outdoor restaurants at the Oriental or Peninsula.
|
I would say Face for Thai, Bed Supper Club for fusion (?) and totally unique experience, or a combination of a Thai nightclub for dinner/live entertainment at Tawandang Brewery, followed by nightcap drinks at Sky Bar (top of State Tower... adjacent to Scirroco) for the view... ahhhh that view.
(or I'd have Ming make me a bowl of chili, but she isn't cooking at her new place.... darn) Carol |
For excellent Thai food, I'd recommend LaNa Thai at Face.

Of all of the dinners that we have had in Bangkok, the best food was at Bed Supper Club. The "scene", ambience and entertainment during the meal were an added bonus. If you like Indian food served in an elegant atmosphere, try Rang Mahal on the 26th floor of the Rembrandt Hotel. Regardless of where you go for dinner, you must stop in at Sky Bar (see above) for a drink and the view afterwards.

How far in advance is is necessary to get reservations at these places? My husband and I headed to Bangkok in late May.
|
Often, you can get away without reservations at most Bangkok restaurants. If you're staying at a hotel, you can have the concierge make a reservation when you arrive. Otherwise, I would just show up and have a back-up plan in case you can't get a table.

Hi
I'm also of to Bangkok in May and there seems to be so many good options...I can't make up my mind where to take my wife when we get there. But I'm staying at Lebua so I'm sure we will have a drink at the Sky bar :d Regards Gard http://gardkarlsen.com - trip reports and pictures |
You would need reservation for Bed. People either love Bed or are rather bored by it - read some of the reviews here.
