Bangkok on New Year's Eve

Last night I saw the most amazing fireworks display I've ever seen from the balcony of our room on the 34th floor of the Peninsula Hotel. It was like we were standing in them and we screamed like children. It was breathtaking. Bangkok knows how to party!

Bangkok has been wonderful and I wish now we had stayed a bit longer...don't you hate it when Bob is right?

We leave for Siem Reap this evening and am looking forward to the rest of the trip. So far it has been amazing and far exceeds what I had hoped for. Will gather all my thoughts and get a trip report together when we return.

Hope everyone has a wonderful New Year!

I'm so glad you're enjoying yourselves! Bangkok fireworks on the river are wonderful aren't they? We were there during Loy Karthong and saw four sets of fireworks from our suite at theh Royal Orchid!

I've spent many NYE's in Bangkok - it's my favorite place for NYE.

Yeah, the fireworks were nice. I watched from inside my apartment at Emporium Suites. I didn't even go out on the terrace as the terraces are made of glass so there's no obstructing the view. I could see the fireworks in the river area, also along Sukhumvit...probably around the Chitlom area...and also to the north/west of me. They were all going off at the same time. Happy Travels!
