Bangkok Nightlife - Bars & Clubs

Suggestions? Recommendations?

Been to Bed Supper Club - very cool. Vertigo has a great bar as well. But that was a year ago, I am sure new and better things have come about.

One of the best nightlife websites, www.worldsbestbars.com has a few other recommendations, but I am not sure if they are any good.

Bamboo Bar, 87, Dali, Faith Club, Narcissus, Q Bar, Spasso, Speed, Telephone, The Balcony?

Let me know your thoughts are on any of these. Much much appreciated!!

Other recommendations, most welcome!

You need to go to the stop of State Tower to Sky Bar. It's gorgeous!! It is another outdoor bar like Vertigo, but MUCH neater (in my opinion). There is a restaurant up there also, but I didn't try it.

Bed Supper Club is still soooo cool. They have a jazz band playing on Sunday nights. It's one of my most favorite restaurants in Bangkok. I've been going for a year and it still ranks right up there!

Tawandang German Brewery is a fun place. We try to go there at least once each trip to BKK. Good food, friendly Thais, a neat stage show with mix of traditional Thai dance, Thai "jazz fusion" and pop.

I've never been to Q-Bar but I know it is a very popular place. I've been to Bamboo Bar. In my opinion, it is a noisy crowded place that is famous (infamous) from days of R & R during Viet Nam. It's a younger crowd that likes to drink beer, dance, and listen to loud music. Not my cup of tea... I much prefer the sophistication, if you will, of places like Bed Supper Club and Sky Bar.

Enjoy your time in BKK.

Kuranosuke-- the Bamboo Bar you are thinking of is in the Oriental -- not the Penn. The one Carole is talking about must be a different one.

Bed still super cool. The restaurant attached to Sky Bar on top of State Tower Sirocco is also very cool IMO. Face Bar abd Hazra in Sukhumvit are not new but I always enjoy them. Spassos at the Grand Hyatt has good Italain food tho slightly older crowd. Q bar is OK.

Just thought of another place. The Huntsman in the basement of the Landmark Hotel on Sukhumvit is a good place to eat, have a drink, listen to a good band, and dance.

And yes, I had a DIFFERENT Bamboo Bar in mind... sorry

NO!!.. my litle hip hop joint. has hit it big... (speed)

-Spasso is OK it verry expensive has a live band and dj sesion.

-one of the older and still kicking places is CM2 under the novatel... one room has a live band etc.. and the other room booms some hip hop on weekends..

Mystique.. is a new upscale place..

I think telephone is a gay club..

if ya want too dance with the locals maybe try out RCA or the clubs on rachada roud.. RCA is a whole block of clubs connected together..

On rachada. i've been too hollywood.. IT's HUGE.. the music is thai dance techno etc..

Just picked up son today at O'Hare. He returned home from 6 weeks in BKK. He told me about a great Thai restaurant called "Face" on soi 38 (I think it was). He said it was the best Thai food he's had anywhere. Just wanted to add that to our little thread here of good places in BKK. I've not been there but trust his recommendation. Maybe some of you who are going to BKK before I go back in Sept/Oct can check it out!
