Let me suggest you start by browsing the hotel listings on www.sawadee.com You can sort by price within areas. I'm not sure what "easy to get to" means to you, but I think it's important to be close to public transport like the Skytrain.

Take a look at the Bossotel Hotel. It is in a great location close to skytrain and river ferry. Rooms are clean but basic, there is a nice pool and breakfast is good.
