Bangkok: Heat and Traffic
Both are terrible and can really take a toll on your touring time.
Thanks to those that warned me to start early and use a taxi instead of trying to walk between places.
I was soaked by 1030 and really had to keep up my fluid intake. Coming back to the hotel for a mid-day pool break was good advice as well.
I learned to use the Skytrain to get across town and then grab a taxi to finish the trip. The a/c on the skytrain was also a welcome relief.

- and creep into the nearest 7-11 if it all gets too much (the best air con!) You can also buy frozen towelettes at such shops (called 'phaa yen') which can help temporarily.
- bring a foldable chinese paper fan with you and a small water spray bottle for your ears, neck, inner wrists, then fan like crazy!
