Bangkok Car Decals

Has anyone ever seen either Bangkok or Thailand car decals anywhere for sell in Bangkok? I just bought a new car and it would be nice to christen it with a new car decal especially since I'll be getting a personalized license plate with something related to Bangkok on it. I've never seen car decals sold in Bangkok. Maybe they don't make them(?). Happy Travels!

Guen if you really want to be like Thai you maybe should have bought a Tuk Tuk (just kidding!)

Guenmai Oct 18th, 2007 09:41 AM

Bill...You know.... I have a magazine article from some years back on how to buy a tuk tuk and a description of the different models. Maybe I'll get one for my third car...since I still have my old car,too....which, at this point, is kind of running as slowly as a tuk tuk. My old car is a bit tired at nearly 300,000 miles...original engine, no engine work. Smiles. Happy Travels!

Hi guenmai!!
I vaguely remember reading an article about buying tuk-tuks. Maybe we read the same one.
Hope the new car is all that you hoped it would be.

Guienmai- I assume your new car is yellow in honor of the King- right?

Hi Guen-
Have you thought about checking some of the larger stores in Thai Town? Maybe you'll find it here since there are so many Thai expats. You might try asking some of the owners of your fav. Thai restaurants too.

Otherwise you're just going to have to wait until you're back in BKK and go on the hunt there. :-)

I also remember reading that article about buying a tuk tuk.

PS. What kind of card made it to 300,000 miles and what did you pick for your new one?

The car that's almost at 300,000 miles is my Plymouth Colt Hatchback...which is the same car as the Mitsubishi Mirage. It was my second Colt...the first being a Dodge Colt in 1980 and then the Plymouth Colt in 1991. I still drive it every day and it's running fine...original engine and no engine work. I drive the new car 2008 Subaru Forester on the weekends and a bit during the week...don't want to wear it out like the Colt. Smiles. Happy Travels!

You Southern California people always have the spiffiest cars.

Guenmai Oct 23rd, 2007 07:17 AM

Yes, Gpanda...We're a big "Car" culture state. A lot of the major car company car designs are done right here at the famous Art Center school in Pasadena. It's quite well known for its car design program. And it's common that there are cars...certain models... that are released by different companies that are only sold in California. Happy Travels!
