Bangkok- Blue Elephant Restaurant
Looks like a good place for lunch/dinner. Comments from those that have been there? Also what are your thoughts on "Lemongrass Restaurant"?
|
Sorry, I haven't been to the Blue Elephant. Lemongrass is one of my favorites, though. It's in an old teak house, and the food is excellent. The service is good, prices very reasonable. We eat there once each trip.

blue elephant can best be described as one of those expense card restaurants...very excellent with a cooking school as well but not high on my radar screen for excellent bak restaurants....great location...
we thought lemongrass was ok, but not fabulous...we like harmonique better...make sure you have a reservation at lemongrass....we were turned away twice.... |
Bob, you like Harmonique better than Lemongrass? I guess I do remember you saying you like the Chinese-infleunced dishes. Harmonique's menu is very Chinese infleunced, Lemongrass is more classically Thai food. The service at Harmonique is spotty on the best days, abysmal on the worst. I've always had consistent food and service at Lemongrass - and oh, yes, I do always make a reservation.

i knew that would get you kathie....i thought the food only ok at lemongrass, while my wife liked it quite well...yes there is a difference in the menus as you have mentioned....
i still prefer harmonique...anxious to try gallery cafe on gpanda's suggestion....i recieved the le siam cafe menu today and it is impressive, but a heavy french influence and very expensive... |
In light of the discussion about Chinese influence on Harmonique's menu, my wife and I didn't have any problem finding an assortment of dishes that were strictly Thai.
