Bangkok Airways..When to Book

Another question...Are the prices generally the same or are there ever seat sales? I am looking at booking my flights from BKK to Siem Reap for March and am wondering how quickly i should book them? I already have a room booked at Siem Reap...

Tracey,

Usually no specials or promotions on this routing since it is a very popular one. Last year we did some research on prices and found that booking through Bangkok Airways own website was the cheapest. http://www.bangkokair.com

I suggest you have a look at the prices of the tickets now AND the refund fees. I have no experience with cancelling a Bangkok Airways flight but I cancelled serveral Thai Airways flights (booked through the TG-website) and the refund fees of most booking-classes are very reasonable (500 THB for domestic flights and 1000 THB for international flights on tickets without to much restrictions)

I would book them right away. I used Bangkok Airways from Bangkok to Samui and return and was very pleased with the airline. The sooner you book the best fares you get.

Also consider using their multiple-flight promotion. I found that buying the Bangkok-SiemReap roundtrip PLUS a throwaway ticket to Phuket was much cheaper than just the roundtrip itself.

If you have your dates and hotels nailed down, I would go ahead and book. We just booked flights for next June and, though they offer over 10 flights a day from BKK to Samui, one of them was already sold out...and June is very low season. So, to get the flight days and times you want, it is probably a good idea to book.

Also don't bother with their discovery airpass unless you are going to use more than two sections (minimum 3 sections required). The pass will cost you $273 for 2 international and 1 domestic flights when the extra fuel charges and insurance are added in. Regular fare is $271 net.
Book you flights as soon as possible as their flights fill up quickly since for now they are the only airline flying this route.
