Bangkok Airport

Is anyone familiar with the day hotel at the Bangkok airport? I read that there are rooms you can rent for ~$85 for 8 hours. We arrive late and catch another flight the next morning. I thought this would save us some money over the Amari airport hotel. I couldn't find anything at the Bangkok airports website and my guidebook didn't give any information other than the price.
Thanks!

Last January we stayed at the Ebina Hotel - $66US for three people in a two room suite. Fifteen minutes by free shuttle from airport. This price was from the Airport Hotel reservation desk, which is normally cheaper than direct to hotel. But you can bargain.
We arrived at 7 p.m, left at 3 a.m.

Hi Anna

we were twice in your situation and stayed always in the Amari Airport Hotel which is just across the street.
You are right it is not so cheap but it is so comfortable in the morning when you are only in 3 mns at the departure hall.

Used to use the day hotel alot in the transit area. They were about $USD45 for 6 hours about 18mths ago. Have TV and ensuite. They can be in demand so should book. The hotels outside the airport are either expensive or if they are cheaper you need to get a taxi that adds to price as the roads are abit convoluted. If you wait for transit buses you can miss out on alot of sleep waiting for them. I'd go for transit hotel for minimum hours to snooze and shower and spend rest of my time cruising around the airport.

Jan,
Any idea how I book the transit hotel? Or what its name is?

Thanks to everyone for their replies.
Anna
