Bangkok airport day tours
 

Does anybody know if Bangkok Airport conducts a day tour similar to Singapore?

Last time I was there I thought I read something about it

yes they do, and have been doing so for months. I think i posted something about it, or maybe not. unfortunately I cant find the mag I saw the info in.

Started in 2002 transit passengers whom have enough hours to kill (up to 12) and wish to go on the short tours offered by The Association of Thai Travel Agents, are exempt from the 500 baht airport tax. The tour counters are in the transit area and you can choose from a variety of programs. Cost will depend on the type of tour and while on the expensive side, still a good way to fill in the time between fights. Some of the tours that you can take are - Temples & Palaces Tour, Khlong Thon Buri & Shopping Tour, Grand Palace & Shopping Tour, Thai Boxing Trip, Thai Food & Night Market Tour and some other shopping tours.

Note that those wishing to take these tours must pass though passport control and be eligible for a visa on arrival.

Further to my above post note that this applies to the present airport. When the new one opens late this year ?? it may be different.

my response refers to NEW airport.

oh. I wasn't sure if you meant day trip while your on layover at airport or a half day tour of the new airport. I think scooters got it right.
