Bangkok
I am going to bangkok( 7 days) in June next year with my daughter and 5 year old granddaughter. Is that too long in one spot aand where could we go not too far away to a nice bech area.
|
7 days = 6 nights? Perhaps 2 nights in Bangkok and the other 2 at a beach resort. Within 2 - 3 hours drive from Bangkok is Hua Hin and Pattaya. Within a 1 hour flight from Bangkok is Phuket, Krabi, Koh Samui etc. I guess it depends on how much you want to spend.

I love Bangkok. My first trip to Thailand was for 9 days in Bangkok. You can stay somewhere with a lovely pool are, perhaps the Anantara on the river. If you want beach, I'd recommend Hua Hin, just a drive from Bangkok as Hanuman says. There are many lovely places to stay that have good activities for a child. The Hyatt at Hua Hin for instance. You can easily arrange for a car and driver to take you there from Bangkok.

i like kathie's plan 100%.. the anantara pool has a nice kids pool too. that is the anantara riverside.. the A resort and spa.
|
Thanks! I have booked the Anantara! Looks great. Now any suggestions for what to do from there would be really helpful. Also how do I organise a driver and what can I expect to pay for that?

rhkkmk,
We will be in Bangkok in January. Where do you recommend that we "see elephants outside the city"? Thank you. |
there is a group in the hills above hua hin.. there is a group near to kantchburi and the burma border..

Neither of thosse are great places to interact with elephants if you care about how the elephants are treated.
