Bangkok 2nights/3days

We will be traveling from HK for 2 quick nights. Have a 10yr old boy in tow. Thinking 2 mornings of touring, Grand Palace and Jim Thompson house. Possible Crocodile Farm?? Heard it is great fun for kids.
Any dinner recommendations? Would the Night Market be a good choice? We are staying at the Peninsula.
Afternoons we will lounge by the pool and my husband will take the afternoon cooking class at Blue Elephant. I know the morning class is better because of the visit to the market but we do want to tour together in the mornings.
Any input wuld be appreciated. I have already contacted Ratt for morning touring.
Thanks-

Sounds like you have things pretty well organized for your BKK trip. You will love the Penninsula!

I don't have information about the croc farm, but I do want to tell you that I think SuanLum night bazaar is getting better all the time. You will have to go by taxi (or Ratt) because it is out of the way from your hotel.

Have a great time!

Thank for the help. Is there only 1 "night bazzar?". I would rather deal with Ratt and have her wait for us being my son will prob. be comotose by evening.

nope there are tens of night markets but the one on rama 4 seems specialy made for tourist/famaly.. you also have the Pot Pong night market(inside red light district, Pratunam and Bobe markets cater a bit more too locals. specialize in wholesle/ratail clothes.

The night bazaar you want is called Suan Lum Night Market. Food there is not IMO great so I would sggest u shop there and go somewhere nearby for a meal. I can reco Thang Long on Soi Lungsuan which is fairly close for good Vietnamese or Calderazzo, also on Soi Lungsuan for Italian. You are also reasonably close to the Grand Hyatt which has a decent Thai rest if u want a hotel.

Make an early start your Grand Palace day as post 10 it tends to get very crowded. Wat Pho and Wat arun (the emerald and reclining buddhas) are in the same vicinity so u could potentially do all3 in 1 morning without setting too bruising a pace.

I've heard mixed reviews of the croc farm and personally am not a fan of crocs so suggest u ask someone else.

I also like Suan Lum night bazaar because there is a large "center stage" area with live entertainment (music) going on. It's a place to sit down and have a cold drink (for DH) while I go shopping in the stalls!!

Plus, the evening temps are much more comfortable for market shopping than daytime heat.
