We've just returned from a trip in Indonesia (Bali, Jogya & Lombok)
We based ourselves in Ubud in a gorgeous resort found by surfing and reading some useful reviews in this community : http://www.alamindahbali.com/alam_shanti.htm (Dewi was our accomodation) Our guide was Putu Arnawa, a wonderful guide and person. He tailored 4 full days of excursions in different area of Bali to perfectly fit our requirements and expectations. Puntual, helful and caring Putu made our stay in Bali unforgettable by letting us appreciate, capture and share balinese nature and culture. Being an Italian speaking a non native language (English) this was very much appreciated As far as beaches are concerned have a look at this resort perfectly nestled in a nature paradise overlooking a secluded beach (Selong Belanak, Lombok south) quite different from crowded beaches... http://sempiakvillas.com/ Selamat jalan (have a nice trip) |
I just forgot to leave contacts of Putu, sorry about that..

Good, Putu is going to take you to Tanah Lot. He (as a photographer) and I enjoyed a stop for a wedding procession. We also stopped in a village where I learned about a local burial (re-burial?) practice.

For what to do in Ubud I recommend Bali Bird Walk, 9 to 1 pm several days a week, not just birds, but also plants and butterflies and discussion of rice cultivation, including walking paddies in Penestan area and lunch at Murnis Warung. Sure is excellent, birders and beginners should enjoy. Details on website, Balibirdwalk.com, Reservations not needed.

I've never before read anyone who described individual people as 'fungible'. I know what you mean but i don't think that word is well suited to what you want to say.
As far as Bali, simply type these words onto the google screen: bali golf. |
To be clear: I said the drivers were NOT fungible.
