Bali in August - Need honest opinion!

Have always wanted to visit Bali. Was in Jakarta
many years ago on business, but had no time
for further excursions in country. Have done much research on Bali, and am really keen to visit, but only have 1 week-10 days at beginning
of August to travel there. Will be with grad student
daughter, who has limited vacation after summer job. Honest info on weather conditions then, please! Do not know whether it is rainy, "monsoon" period, etc. It may very nice, but need
all helpful info. Thanks in advance!

How about data rather than an opinion? www.weatherbase.com

Boonie, August is one of the comparatively drier months in Bali. Of course it is the tropics and you'll get rain showers -- and some storms -- all year round.

August is also one of the comparatively busy months because of the European holidays. Overall it's fairly quiet throughout the year, but in August it would be wise to book ahead.

The weather in August is near perfect. Days not too warm and cool nights. Rains don't start until October or so.

I second the previous comment - even though tourism to Bali supposedly isn't what it was, the good places are all booked up months in advance. If you book too late, you'll end up in Nusa Dua.

Go to Ubud. Go to Ubud. Stay at Tegal Sari. From your balcony, count the grains of rice growing before your eyes. Life slows down and will never be the same. Go to Ubud. Enjoy.

Spent July/Aug in Bali many years ago. Weather was ideal everywhere.

I've never found the weather stopped me from enjoying Bali and I guess I have covered most months in the year. Stop worrying, go and meet the nicest people possible in the most beautiful setting. If it rains it is still warm and you will probably want to stand in it!
