Bali exploring footwear etc
 

am also going to spiritual and yoga retreats while in these places.


My largest concern is footwear. what do you wear in the jungle or hiking volcanoes if it is very hot and you need grip / protection / waterproofing?

sounds like barefoot is almost the best option lol

also clothing i am bringing equipment to shoot so i want to pack light on clothing but still cover the bases.

should I bring legit waterproof hiking boot? Just leather boots that are less insulated/ hot?

people usually recommend hiking sandals, but i dont know for full on adventure, exploring doesn't sound very safe?

I am also interested in places to adventure and explore that would be indigenous and epic, beautiful, interesting.

If you know it's going to be wet -- e.g., in the rain, across streams, on the beach -- then you should choose a heavy weight trekking sandal. I like Chaco's, but all of the athletic brands make them.

For volcano climbing, you might want a hiking boot, especially if you plan to get close to lava or hot springs. You should ask the organizers what they recommend. This site is a good source of information.

Unless you have a specific need for support, I wouldn't bother with boots. Two hot for one thing and take up too much space for another. I always take a pair of keen hiking shoes http://www.keenfootwear.com/en-gb/pr...men/targhee-ii

and their Newport sandals. I find them both extremely comfortable and they have taken me all over Asia and South America up and down mountains, through jungles etc. And have performed very exceptionally well. I like the Keen's for jungle trekking as they have closed toes which protect your feet from sticks etc.

Of course the most important factor is comfort and you can only assess that by trying on a few pairs.
