Bali driver/guide

Pls recommend a guide/driver for a group of 4 ladies going to Bali.

I have seen the name of Putu appeared on this forum.

Anyone had experience using other guide/driver?

we used put a couple of years ago and will be using him next spring again...two addresses:

[email protected]
and
[email protected]

he is fantastic...

he has a new suv...very comfortable as was his prior auto...

he is a very serious guy but quite fun also....he is in his 30's i think....

he loves his country and knows it backwards and forward....he knows all the back roads and shopping places...

he will totally customize to your pleasure....

We have been to Bali twice in the last 3 years and are going back in Feb. We have used Merta both times and have found him to be knowledgeable, trustworthy and very reasonable. We are going back this Feb and have already contacted him for that trip, you will be more than satisfied.

Dear Nutshell,

We have used a driver called Dean and were extremely satisfied with his services. His email address is [email protected] . He is very knowledgeable about Bali and will help you with your itinerary. He is very funny and really good company! I would highly recommend him. Please see my trip report on Tripadvisor - http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowTop...2006-Bali.html

Have a great time!

Kacenka,

Thank you for the great trip report. I will use it as a reference.

Actually I have sent a couple of emails to Putu but no replies from him.

My friends have decided to engage a driver when we get there. I heard that it's pretty easy to find.

I will try to contact Dean.

Thank you so much for your help.

Sorry I'm new here. Thousand apologies to rhkkmk, jonbarb709 and irene2008 for I have forgotten to thank you guys for your helpful responses.

Nutshell,

Glad I could help. We did organise driver on the spot for 1 day (4 hours actually) and it was much more expensive than what Dean charged for a whole day, and I don't mean just '9-5' type of day. We didn't want just a driver, we also wanted someone who could tell us about Bali and Dean is just perfect for that. I hope he is available for you as he is a great companion.

Enjoy Bali, it's beautiful!

Please feel free to ask anything.

Katerina

Hi Nutshell,

I've actually booked Dean and Putu for our trip in May (couldn't decide) and just wanted to add that I know Putu was having email problems about a week ago. I had to resend a few messages that he never got but everything seems to okay now. I'm sure you'll be happy with Dean too and he's also very responsive.

I will highly rec'd Puta. I had reserved him for 2 days during our recent trip to Thailand & Bali. My friend & I wanted one more day to shop without our husbands-Puta was booked up but he had his brother take care of us. Puta is very kind, knowledgable his car was comfortable and he was very reasonable. I LOVED BALI-I would go back in a heartbeat. Wish we had more than a week of our month vacation there

I should have clarified that the Putu I was referring to was Putu Arnawa.

We have been in Indonesia, you can contact him for driver francophone. He was very responsible care with his client.
He was driving us Jakarta to Bali, his rates was 60 euros per day. The car + petrol no other pay.
