If you intend to dive two days you should stay near the sites and, unfortunately, the "best and beautiful" beaches are not near the best dive sites. Otherwise you'll be facing long (3-4 hours) commutes.

Near Menjangan you could stay at Pemuteran. Near Tambulen, you could stay at Amed. These are both friendly seaside communities, with plenty of accommodation options; however, the beaches are not especially notable.

Or you could spend two nights near a dive site and two nights at one of the southern beaches. Sanur, Seminyak and Kuta are all good beaches with lively resort communities. They are also quite different, so it depends what you're looking for.

Sanur is an eastcoast (sunrise) beach with a protective reef which makes for calm water. There are a good number of resorts, shops and restaurants, but it's fairly quiet after dark.

Kuta and Seminyak are westcoast (sunset) beaches with surfer-friendly bigwaves. Places to stay are plentiful as are restaurants, clubs, spas, shops. Kuta tends to be rowdier with an emphasis on bars and non-stop nightlife. Seminyak is more upscale and sophisticated, but still has lots of choices.

Do you mean you're going to spend the night of Day 6 near the dive site? Going back and forth to Kuta once is tolerable, but twice?

Many dive operators will pick you up wherever you are and drive you to the site and take you back at the end of the day. Nothing wrong with this arrangement as long as you understand that you're going to be spending more time in transit than underwater.

If you're interested in two days of diving (or two dives a day)you should stay at the site.

Hey Juliano...

It depends on what kind of activities are you looking for... If you like nightlife, it is better to stay in Kuta Beach - Legian area... The only drawback is that it will be so full of party go ers and the area is so famous of the heavy traffic... Even the cab drivers avoid going to that area on weekends.. Good luck finding a cab... One more thing, the beach is not that great...

On the other hand, Seminyak is more quite and it is surrounded by many upscale stores and restaurants... Personally, I like staying in Seminyak better. The beach is a bit better than Kuta.. Still, like marmot said, the best will be very far from the crowd...

However, Tanjung Benoa also provides the five stars accomodation if you are interested in that kind of stuffs... The beaches will be much cleaner than Kuta or Seminyak, but the accomodation will be much more expensive as well.

I hope it helps...

Hi,
Going anywhere for the purpose of relaxation or getting full enjoyment depends on what kind of activities are you looking for..... As far as my point is concern, some beaches having friendly seaside communities, with number of accommodation options like Pemuteran near Menjangan or Amed near Tambulen.
