Bali - need suggestions!
I am trying to plan a June 2002 honeymoon and am having trouble figuring out where to go. I'd really like to be at a beach resort where we can easily go swimming but am having no luck figuring out which beach area is best and identifying hotels in my price range (about $100/night give or take). Ideally, I'd also like to be reasonably close to some action (restaurants, shopping, etc.) Am I being unrealistic? Any suggestions on which beach area would be good for me or any hotels that would fit my profile? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!

I'd recommend the Bali Hyatt at Sanur Beach. Sanur is a small village on the beach, so it has good restaurants, some shopping, etc., in walking distance. The Bali Hyatt is lovely, with gorgeous grounds. You should be able to get a room in the $100 range. I always stay in the Regency Club for about $120.

Note that there is another Hyatt on Bali, the Grand Hyatt at Nusa Dua. It's very expensive, and I don't like the Nusa Dua area, as it's a tourist enclave and far away from the places you'll want to visit.
