I think the only things that require a converter are non-electronics based equipment (that would include hair dryers, curling irons, and, yes, the illustrious electric toothbrush!)

Your Kindle, iPad/iPod, and laptops all don't need converters but they do need the adapters. I think Hanuman's advice of bringing a power strip (or having adapters with surge protectors built in--referenced above) is a very good point. With rolling power in Burma, protecting your equipment from surges is very smart.

All of the high end hotels I stayed at have hair dryers. I would forget the curling iron.

I always travel with my Oral B and it can transform from 100-240V. It comes with its spiffy travel case that takes no room at all. You poor manual brushing souls
