At least a 12 hr layover

Greetings,

I am in need of some advice. My boyfriend and I will be arriving in Hong Kong on Dec. 26th at around 7:20pm. Our flight to Manila, Philippines is on Dec 27th at 7:50am.

These 2 flights are not connected so my guess is that my baggage will not be transferred over to my next flight. Correct?

Also, is it a good idea to leave the airport? It is less than 12 hours. I am not sure how customs work and i don't know how check ins will work. But is it worth it to leave the airport??

I am flying to Hong Kong with United Airline @MmePerdu and using Philippine airline going to Manila

So not partner airlines so you may be stuck with picking up your bags.

I'd be inclined to just stay in the airport, buy entrance to one of the 24 hour lounges to shower & hang out.

I checked and there is no self-check-in for Phillipines at HKG. You can check in online.

You might be able to check in at the counter after you collect your bags. It should be open because there is a flight to Manila at 10:30 PM that night. You could also see about getting on that flight instead of the morning flight.
