AT&T Passport for iPhones in Vietnam?

Hi, I did a quick search of the threads but couldn't find anything recent, so ...

I'll be in Hanoi for 6 days in November. My iPhone 6s is under contract and will cost $215 to unlock. The AT&T rep tells me the 30-day Passport plan will now cover Vietnam, 200mb of data for $40. The website still lists only Vatican City, Venezuela and Vanuatu and not Vietnam, but the rep quoted me 3 Vietnamese cell service providers now contracted w AT&T.

So my question: Has anyone used AT&T's Passport plan on an iPhone in Vietnam? If so, how was the experience?

I'll need to check email, text in-country and w numbers in the US, Facebook message and navigate using the map.

Thanks!
