Has anybody used asiatravel.com for hotels? Is it reliable or good, especially for bookings? Thanks, Muni

We've used asiatravel.com on both our trips to Thailand and have been very pleased with the selection, prices and services.

Used them extensively in 99/00 Singapore - everything worked fine - we definately got a better rate than a couple who walked in with us
Kuala Lumpa - Hotel had never heard of us, but it was a dump and we found another place easily, so didn't worry us
Bangkok & Vietnam - both places were good.

We used them for airport transfers which all turned up and was a convenient way to purchase. Definately recommend for hotels, as you don't pay anything till you arrive, but are (usually) guaranteed the booking

I used them earlier this year for a hotel in Hua Hin. They seemed perfectly reasonably, though I did not do a lot of comparison shopping.

When I booked first they reserved the right hotel but in the wrong city. However, they cleared up the problem quite quickly.

Just dealt with them in getting a hotel reservation in Hong Kong. Very impressed with their professional approach. Almost like dealing with Amazon.com!

I used Asiatravel.com last year Oct+Nov 2000 to book two hotels in Bali, one in Langkawi, Malaysia, and finally, The Parkroyal in Penang. I made separate inquiries and each was responded to in 24 hours or less. After receiving a confirm, I was asked to provide a C/C # which I did by telephone. All my reservations and rates were exactly as confirmed. I thought the service worked very professionally. I would recommend them.

In fact, The Parkroyal in Batu Feringi Beach, Penang, Malaysia even gave me an upgrade.

Michael From New York
