Did you do a search for asia rooms? Quite a few discussions here already.

I have only used them once before, for a booking in Bali some years ago now. The rates on their website looked cheaper than on other sites, but when the booking went through, the exchange rate they used to convert to Rupiah for credit card billing was very unfavourable, and bumped the rate right up. I would not recommend them for this reason, and have not used them since then.

Totally negative experiences for me. Mostly of the variety of offering a cheap rate but then advising it's no longer available and only higher rates or more expensive properties can be booked.

While in isolation this may not be a dealbreaker, I DO have a problem with asiarooms going ahead and blocking the total cost of the more expensive property on my credit card BEFORE I've accepted the higher rate. Which is what happened to me and no amount of pleading (17 emails!!) could get them to lift it (as my bank required them to do as the acquiring merchant).

You might want to look at sawadee.com and asiahotel.com as well.

Asiahotel.com does not have any place to book a room that I could see.

The correct name of the site Stan was referencing is www.asiahotels.com It used to be a fabulous site for booking hotels, but then were purchased by another company. They no longer have the great prices or great service they once had. Rumor has it they will be sold again, so we can hope for a good change. Right now, they are just ok.

I used Asia rooms for my 3 hotel bookings. Originaly I had booked a mid range hotel. Unfortunately they e-mailed me with a notice that there were no rooms available in the hotel of choice. So, I spent a couple dollars and called them directly. I changed to a less expensive hotel (Awana) and booked a more expensive room....even so, the Awana ended up being less expensive than my original choice and I was satisfied with the room and service. I had noproblems with Asia Rooms at all....but we all have our own experiences...some good...some bad.
