Asia China Beijing Wall-Warm clothes?

We are planning to hike the Great Wall (day trip from Beijing) on Nov. 18th. Will we need to bring warm clothing?

Warm clothes for sure! We ran into snow on the Wall first week of November several years ago. If you want to see pix of clothing we wore at the Wall during the first week of November, and gauge accordingly, send me a note..(pre-digital pix back then)

I was on the Great Wall at Badaling a few weeks later in the year and there was an icy wind (on an otherwise clear, bright day) blowing as the area is quite open. There is a great market there with probably the cheapest prices in China.

My head, hands and feet get cold easily, you can buy cheap, warm hats, scarves and mitts in Beijing, coats too; I brought my own thin cashmere blend socks from Gap.

Thank you for your help! I actually hadn't considered snow. I would think that we will be going to Badaling (the choice is out of my hands)although I heard some of the other access points are less crowded. Whatever. I was going to wear sneakers...maybe its time to consider boots.

Don't know whether you are going to other warmer cities or not, water repellent sneakers with warm, thin socks will be fine for the Wall.
