APT or Uniworld

We are planning a trip to Vietnam and Cambodia next year with friends. (All in our early 60's)
We are not sure which company to cruise from HCMC to Siem Reap and then the trip up to Hanoi and do the Ha Long Bay cruise. APT or Uniworld?????
Any suggestions on this trip would be appreciated, and which months would be bet to avoid the monsoons.

Thanks

Use a local company instead. You will pay less (the big tour companies use the local companies, but add on big profits). You might consider the Pandaw cruise, for instance. And for VN, use a local agent like Tonkin (which gets very good reviews here).

Don't dismiss the benefits of being with a well-established company like Uniworld. My husband and I have made at least 30 trips to Europe without a tour company, but this year we joined a Uniworld river cruise in Germany. First, you will be certain to have first-rate local guides who speak excellent English. The local company may or not be handling an English speaking group of passengers. Second, there will be a tour director onboard who is experienced with American tourists, will be personally checking that the local tours are going well, and deal with emergencies. For example, a passenger had to leave and have a pace maker. The tour director arranged for an English speaking local to accompany the family to the hospital, then made hotel and rent car reservations for the family members staying with the man, and then his personal cell phone became the acess between those family members still on the cruise and those at the hospital.
It is true that companies, including Uniworld, don't own the cruise ship they use in Vietnam, but their scheduled trips will be more suitable for an English speaking group

APT is an Australian company I believe, connected to AMAWAterways. Half of the passengers on our AMAWaterways Mekong River trip were Australians with APT.This was a well run trip which would fit the description that Aleta gives in the above post.
