Hello Lg,
Travel to Nepal from Tokyo via Bangkok is worth or second option is Delhi. As you know that this site is prohibited for advertise that's why please check your mail to know on details. Normally, Tibet visa and permit process takes 4 to 5days and there are fixed departure to Lhasa twice a week either tuesday or saturday... |
Hi. I've been living & doing voluntary teaching with some Tibetans including several Monks, recently in Himachal Pradesh - they mostly say Lhasa is a shell of it's former self. Many advised us to do India's Manali-Leh trip either via air or bus from June to early September & see some of the marvellous monasteries in Leh and on the road over to Srinagar. Easy to fly to Delhi then fly up to Leh for a few days then return to Delhi via www.airdeccan.net
If you really want to go to Lhasa then it's relatively easy to book a trip from Kathmandu by road or air via an agent e.g. www.greenhilltours.com-they were helpful with our initial trip plans. You'll need a Chinese visa before you go & I understand there may be a requirement to travel in a group of 2-4 or more. We decided not to go as the Chinese have apparently constructed many unsympathetic developments close to major sacred temples in Lhasa. Also altitude sickness is a real concern for Manali/Leh & Nepal/Tibet trips. Good luck. |
