Anyone using Tong on 6/1?
 

We just received an email from Tong where she indicated another party would like to join our tour on June 1st. Is it a fodorite? (A girl can hope!)

Has anyone ever had this offer from her before or joined another of her groups?

She won't kick us out of the car for doing that, will she?

She offered us the same thing if we were going to go the first day I wanted. Decided to go a different day and very glad we did!
We sent her some presents from the US and they just got there. She said her daughter Pear took everything for herself :)
Let me know if she has her KC Royals gear on when you see her. ;)

Personally I wouldn't want to go with strangers but if I did I would certainly want to pay less.

she makes it very enjoyable, so i think it could be fun with more people if there is room in the car....we were 4 plus her in the car and it was very comfortable....two tall, one big and two normal---that's four if you are both tall and big....haha...

it would be nice to split the cost too...

if you are uneasy, i would ask her about another available day...

Why should they change dates? They booked Tong far in advance. She confirmed. Now someone else wants to come along. If Kat wants strangers with them, fine. If not, say no and have the OTHER people book either another date or another guide.

I would be upset if I arraigned for someone ahead of time and they wanted a change for their own interest and not yours.

I think that Tong is probably just asking them if they want to share the day because 1) someone else also now wants the same day and 2) many people DO want to share the day with another party. If KITH doesn't want to share the day, I'm sure they can say no and go as planned. I doubt that Tong is saying "share or change".

Of course you get to pay less Gloria, you get to share the costs of the day :-)

I chose to do this, as I wanted to save some money. It is a risk that you end up with people you wish you didnt, but you have to weigh that up with your purpose.

I advertised through another forum that I was looking for someone and a few days before I left I got an email. I ended up sharing the day with a lovely British couple who I got on with famously. It was just them and myself with my 14yo son. We ended up sharing another tour the following day and then caught up again in Chiang Mai! We are still in contact!

It really is luck of the draw but if you are looking to share the costs of the day or meet other travellers, or just get the day you want it is perfect!
