Anyone has flown Jet Airways?

If so, how safe is the airline? And how are the airplanes and service? Planning to fly London/Mumbai/Goa.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi Fiona, I was also thinking of flying BA to Mumbai and then Jet Airways to Goa but I just realized I had long layovers on Mumbai airport both on departure and return ( about 6 hours).
The reason I considered going with Jet Airways from London is because the connections are much better from Mumbai to Goa and return ( 2 hours layover only)

To tell you the truth I am a little scared of flying them in such a long flight (London to Mumbai), lol. I would feel more comfortable and secure flying with BA.

The prices are the same with both airlines and I don't know if it's worth the long hours waiting for flights at Mumbai airport travelling with BA!!!:(

We are looking at spending some time in Mumbai as well. At the moment it will probably be on arrival but we may split it and spend time on way back from Goa as well( although we may still go up to Delhi and leave from there!) By the way- it is Oct 2007 we are looking at.

Check out their reviews at: www.airlinequality.com. We flew them once and thought highly of them as do most of our friends who have flown them.

I have used Jet a number of times, on internal Indian flights, including once from Delhi to Leh (Ladakh), a very small high altitude aerodrome. There service is good, aircrafts new & pilots competent.
There is a difference of almost a 125 US$, between BA & Jet, when we Indians buy Delhi - London return tickets, in India, (for months of July & August).

I have not flown them but people who have think they are great, I don't know why anyone would think about being 'scared' to fly them. They are a modern airline, fast expanding, I think they are going up to 3 times a day into Europe soon and plan to fly to JFK later this year.
You can also I know as they are promoting in SEA get good deals on multiple sectors around India, VP maybe can tell you more but you can no doubt get good deals if using them to fly around India, I think they are starting into KL soon, they already go down to Singapore.

JamesA, the reason I said"I'm scared " ( I should have said I am afraid )is because I never heard of them before, just now. After knowing that it was an airline from India I was afraid it would be like Indian Airlines, about which I dindn't hear good things.

Anyway I checked the reviews in airlinequality.com and I decided to book with them. It will save me long hours at Mumbai airport.

Thank you all again for your input nad help.

Hi,
I live in India but travel abroad quite frequently.

While I'm still to fly with them to an international destination,I almost always choose to fly Jet domestically, on business.I find them to be really world class.

I think that you will find that they are as good if not better than BA.In fact I'd go on to say that they would be far superior to the likes of Air France, Alitalia and the likes.

Cheers

Jet Airways is FANTASTIC. We used them every time we could in India. My guess is their international flights are superb. Think of this airline the way you would Virgin or Jet Blue. There is a great attitute on Jet Airways--fun, professional, young.

You have made a great decision. Have a wonderful time!
