Anyone had vietnamstay.com customize a trip for them?

I see that lots of Fodorites are pleased with vietnamstay.com for their travel arrangements in Vietnam so I'm considering using their services.

We ( 2 adults and teen) will be flying from Australia to Ho Chi Minh City for a 12 night stay.

Have decided not to try and cram everything in,(and have travelled quite a bit throughout SE Asia) so am trying to work on an itinerary that will include only Ho Chi Minh, Mekong Delta ( 2 nights) Nha Trang and Mui Ne.

Tossing up between organising all hotels and transfers myself and using vietnamstay.com

I believe they may be able to negotiate better rates and it appears people often get upgrades when booking through them.

vietnamstay.com says they can organize any itinerary you want, just wondered whether anyone has actually negotiated a different itinerary to what is offered on their site.

Also, considering using deltaadventures.com for the Mekong Delta sector. Any input on this company appreciated also.

Thanks!

Anyone??

Haven't used Vietnamstay. I used Delta Adventure Tours for a one day Mekong tour followed by transfer to Phnom Penh in 2002. I would say they were definitely a budget outfit. Adequate, but not particularly comfortable.

Thanks, appreciate the feedback,

Lonely Planet recommended delta adventure tours that's why I thought I'd look into them- but don't really want anything too rough!

I am going to Vietnam in 1 week for 12 days and built all my itinerary ,chose my hotels and then gave them to Vietnamstay ( Aurora Travel) for princing me the tour.

I booked everything with them, (flights in Vietnam included) as they gave me a really good price and their atention and replies to my emails were always kind and prompt.

Hi, lavender!

I am also a traveler who did NOT use Vietnamstay.com. I checked out there prices and initially thought them to be reasonable.

However, I checked their prices against Wired Destinations and found that W-D was giving better rates on the hotels in the 2 cities I will be visiting. So I booked instead with W-D.

With regard to the one flight I need between SaiGon and HaNoi, I simply booked online at Pacific Airways for about US$ 73 one-way.

Just thought I'd share my experiences with you. Enjoy your travels!

I have used vietnamstay.com to customise a trip through Hanoi, HCMC and Hue. I chose the hotels from their site and let them recommend flights, cars etc.

I was skeptical as it all seemed too "easy" and I have NEVER used any kind of tour company in the past, ie. have always planned my own trips to the last minute detail..but was really pleased with vietnamstay! Everything worked out like clockwork and I can't recommend them highly enough.

I used Vietnamstay last year for a 2 week trip Saigon to Hanoi. They arranged all hotels, flights, airport transfers and also a couple of day tours. They were very professional and responsive. Cars were all very nice. Drivers arrived promptly. I highly recommend them.
