Any interest in a bangkok GTG oct 21-23??
 

several of us will be in bangkok at this time and i thought maybe we could get together again as we have in the past. maybe a meal, or just a drink??

let me know who might be there then and what would work best for you.

Alas! We don't get to Bangkok until November. I'm sorry to miss you and Karen in Bangkok, Bob. But I know we'll continue to cross paths in the future.

I'm in too. What about gathering at Maeng's new place for a drink and food. Bob, you and Karen need to finally meet her and have her shrimp and Indian dishes. Yum! We could watch the river processional on a big screen there..... since it seems to be quite impossible to see it live... what with traffic, security, limited space along the river, etc. Drat! I had my hopes set pretty high on seeing this event live. But a nice GTG might help me forget my disappointment... :))

If I am in town I'll join. Note that the 24th is a holiday so it's a long weekend for most.

Carol's idea sounds like a good one. DH and I will be in BKK October 20-26, so go ahead and set a date and time, and it will be great to see/meet everyone.

Looks like a fairly good chance Brad will also be back in BKK (after just coming back HOME from there!!) as he has things to do in late October in BKK. We can probably count him in as well...

Sadly Bob, we will not be in Bangkok around that time, but.........if we were........I wouldn't miss it for anything.
Hopefully, our dates will converge one of these days in the future. I'd love to meet up for a chat.........Grumpy meets Happy !! Who's who?

I think we are talking about getting together on the 22nd, not on the 24th. Am I right? But the 23rd would also work, if there are folks who DO plan to see the procession live, down at the river.

Maeng's place is a little bit tricky to locate because even though you can see it from the Landmark (right across the street) you have to locate the hallway that leads to the stairs going up to her new place.

i'm suggesting that we have the GTG on the 22nd at 5PM at maeng's new place. also lets ask her to cook for us her shrimp dish and a couple of other things that we all would like.

that way we can watch to boat procession if we want and also have fun meeting together and have a nice meal and some drinks.
