Sorry, I can't help you with India. |
Cats can be found in old buildings like the Gymkhana Clubs, where members congregate for drinks & non-veg snacks. You will see them stalking around the tables. Hindu temples also have cats as a lot of 'prasad' (Holy benedict)is strewn over. A few days back I was in Khem Villas with some fodorites & early in the morning went looking for overnight tracks on the sandy goat tracks around the lake. I was surprised to see a number of tracks, some old & some afresh. One such included the pug-marks of a jungle cat where it had scratched the ground to cover up it's droppings! However, jungle cats are nocturnal animals & though photogenic, are difficult to spot.

Nice job with the photos! I think coming across such situations in SE Asia is purely serendipitous. Cats are everywhere if you keep your eyes peeled.

Great photos of Cats! I can't help with India at the moment, though I did observe lots of cats in both Egypt and Greece.
I hope you can add Chats India soon. |
Those are some cool cats!

Nice pics. Sorry, no information on India from me either.
I am a cat owner, so I "see" cats when traveling, and I photograph them. Like this one inside a family's house in Cangyuan, Yunnan, China: rkkwan.zenfolio.com/p432771071/?photo=548413882 But strangely, during my last 10-day trip to Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan, I didn't see a single cat. Dogs, pigs, cattle, chicken. Everything but no cats. |
I can't help with India, but here in Indonesia, there's no shortage of cats.
You'll find them literally everywhere you go, living near trashcans, near food stalls, at pasars and fish markets, near guard shacks, near homes, schools and mosques in just about every town, city and village. I love cats and I love your photos! |
