Any advice for things to do in Hanoi???

Hi all,
Is there anybody who traveled to Hanoi already and has suggestion for lovely places and things to do there? We are a couple traveling for honeymoon this November. We booked a private tour package but still have 1 day and some evening free in Hanoi. We are looking for nice places (cafe shop, restaurants, or any place to hang out at night), suitable for Westerners and couples. I heard that there are many charming pubs, restaurants in Old Quarter, which ones should we try?
Thanks in advance

Manny,
Have you checked suggestions on Tripadvisor? I love Ly Club for dinner, it's fancy and charming restaurant with very impressive oriental design and atmosphere of course a little expensive.
For less expensive choice, Ngon restaurant is popular choice (Tran Hung Dao street, a busy and non-private restaurant but it's set up in a Hanoi's ancient villa which is quite graceful and has various exquisite food for you to choose.
Cafe shops could try Puku Tong Duy Tan, Hanoi Social club, etc.

A number of cooking schools offer half-day sessions at prices that are low compared to Europe. The food and culture are tightly connected so it's not just about recipes. One that includes a shopping tour with the chef will be an eye-opener. This company http://hanoicookingcentre.com/ also leads a tour of street food stalls which is fascinating although requires a certain amount of willingness to experiment.
This site http://www.wordhanoi.com/ contains lots of restaurant information based on reader contributions. It offers plenty of general tourist info too.

See here what Hanoi has to offer:

One thing I liked was the bread they have there. Must have been introduced by the French and it's delicious.

Hi Manny,
Sorry for a question that is not related to your topic. We are planning a honeymoon to Vietnam as well. Which travel agent did you book with?
