The annual December major markdown sale will be held next weekend at the BiTech Center outside bangkok. Hours are 10 to about 5 Friday to Sunday.

Last night was especially nice as we joined m/m Hanuman and Nicky (smeagol) and david at the fabulous Gaggan Restaurant for a 13+ course tasting menu with additions from pook, plus fruit drinks! vodka and gin drinks! uniquely Gaggan drinks! champagne! red wine! drinks out of glass pipes! drinks out of unique glasses, 3 desserts and more laughs than any 6 people should be allowed to have... Dinner went on for hours.

Tonight a smaller festival is planned by the same 6 people. This time Pook has arranged a Peking duck menu at chef man restaurant in the Eastin Hotel on Sathorn Rd.

We were slightly trapped on soi 2 sukhumvit after lunch as the whistle blowing demonstrators were marching along sukhumvit to the American embassy on wireless rd. We just sat in the marriott lobby and waited for the 1000+ people! all blowing whistles! to pass. A bit annoying but maybe this government will eventually step down.

How could I have forgotten to mention that 3 or 4 of our dishes had liberal slices of white and also black truffles. At one point one of the chefs passed around a bowl of truffles for us to smell. We almost lost dang...

If you like to shop, there's an international bazaar today 12/1/13 at Central World mall on the 8th floor; starts at 10 am and this is the last day of the two day sale. Things from about 40 countries. 20 baht entry fee
