Animal Encounters in SE Asia
I enjoy interacting with animals during my travels, but it seems like such encounters will be sadly lacking on my upcoming trip to Vietnam (Saigon, Sapa, HCMC, and the delta), Cambodia (SR and PP), and Laos (LP).
Any suggestions?
To elaborate,I loved meeting working forest elephants in Myanmar, and even the farmer's cow.
Also enjoyed the Tiger Temple in Thailand.
I liked the monkey temple in Bali, but did not enjoy the experience as much as others because the monkeys were quite aggressive.
I've heard that there is some sort of forest within reach of Saigon where you can interact with (non-aggressive) simians, but don't know anything more about it.
I looked into the Wildlife rescue center in Cambodia (PP), but I want to do more than just walk past animals in enclosures.
Thanks in advance.

In Thailand, you can enjoy time with elephants.
In Vietnam, let me see..
Near Hanoi there is a small natural reserve called Bang Ta forest (about 50kms away).. animals there are super-friendly. you can play with monkey, give them bread.. stay close to deers..
In the South of Vietnam, there're lots of forest also.

Thanks Linhzom. I think that forest is exactly what I'm looking for. However I did a google search and am unable to find the exact site/location. If anyone has more info I'd be grateful for it.

I would be very careful of wild monkeys......extremely dangerous animals, don't be fooled by their looks they could rip one of your arms or other body parts right off if they are big enough.
Never trust a wild monkey, it's an accident waiting to happen, special place or not!
Aloha!

Are you familiar with The Gibbon Experience in Laos? Haven't been there but it's definitely on my list if I ever get back.
