ANDAMAN Islands

I am planning our trip to North-east India using Kolkata as "hub". Period is Feb-March 2011, 4 weeks stay.

A possible destination is the Andaman Islands area. I konw that there are several limitations related to islands / places that can be accessed by tourists.
We could plan a 5 / 6 days trip flying from Kolkata to Port Blair.
Any help / advice is welcome, is it worth to spend some days there? Grazie, ciao.

The most popular destination from Port Blair is Havelock Island, though there are other islands like Ross,Jolly Boy(Bouy),not sure how they spell it,are day visits.Havelock has a few resorts like Barefoot,Emerald Gecko & Wild Orchid.(Google their site).Port Blair is normally a transit point. Not much, except the tribal museum & the Prison.
Any specific info you're looking for?
You'll need a permit to go to Car Nicobar & a few other tribal areas, some considered un-safe.

Thanks.
Is it confirmed that to visit Port Blair, Havelock NO special permit is required?
See / beaches look very nice, is it? We are not divers... just would like to stay in a quiet place and enjoy the sun and sea.
I don't expect expensive living..
Grazie, ciao
