Amanpuri prices

Message: Hi,

We are visiting Amanpuri in Phuket for 5 nights in April and are wondering if anyone has any idea as to prices of incidental expenses such as food, beverages, spa and cruise excursions.

Any information shall be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again

as at any top notch place the prices will be expensive

They will no boubt be expensive. Stock your refrigerator from a local store ( Cola B 13, 1 ltr Juice B 68, Soda B5, mineral water B 5-8 ), you will save a fortune. See what they charge for excursions and then compare, no boubt near the entrance some entrepreneur would have a travel desk/stall, compare.
You will also find local eateries in the area.

Do check if your breakfast is included in your rate and also that tax and service is included

I did notice on some luxury hotels that are promoting free night in Phuket that breakfast was compulsory for any free nights, that added B 750 plus tax and service pp, which works out at US$45 for 2.

I was considering a stay at the Amanpuri later this month, but unfortunately I had to change my plans :(
As I'm sure you know, the Amanpuri rates are 50% for the next few months which is unheard of for an Aman!

I emailed the hotel and asked for copies of their menus, and I was pleasently surprised that the prices were pretty reasonable for a hotel of its class, especially the prices for Thai food. ($6 for soup, $8-10 for noodle dishes, etc).

I would be obliged if you could forward me the copy of the menu you got from Amanpuri at my email address.

Thanks once again.

Having stayed at Ampari on Phuket for 6 nights 2 years ago I can tell you it is far too sterile for my taste.
I asked for an umbrella at the pool and was told the designer of the hotel advised them to not allow umbrellas and the Gen. Mgr. said "NO" to me at $600/day.Can you believe that!!
Try the Banyan Tree (if it was not severly damaged) at 2/3rd the price and be treated as an honored guest.

I also got a copy of the menus, and the prices were about what I expected, fairly expensive for drinks, but the Thai food was fairly reasonable.

Prices are very low right now, I switched from the Banyan Tree and have Pavilion 103 for about 60% of the price of the Banyan Tree.

We go in April, I can't wait.
