alternative to RATT in bangkok
i have heard that ratt's time is filling up quickly and that she is turning people away...
we used a really nice young man on the last trip in addition to ratt....he is Somphet Gunthon...unfortunately he has no e-mail that i know of but his cell phone is 0-6040-9893...you need the 66 country code and some other codes depending on where you are calling from...
i will try to contact him to see if there is an e address for him....
he is regularily parked just outside the marriott resort and spa in bangkok....he is a former hotel employee at some of bkk's finest hotels....he has excellent english...he charges about 250 B per hour around bkk....he has a brand new toyota corolla yellow and green taxi which he owns...his wife is a maid at the marriott...

...is his car a/c and does he bring towels and cold water for you like Ratt? Still working on my itin for Feb, but since I'll be staying at the MC Resort(and my boyfriend is adverse to planning in advance), Somphet could be a good alternative for me.

his car has super a/c...all taxis, except very old ones have a/c...you may have to ask to have it turned on or up when in it...he keeps his car very comfortable for you and him...

Great! Then we'll just bring our own towels (and maybe a cooler). Hope you're able to get a website/email - if not we'll look for him when we get there. We're only there for 2 nights at the start of our trip, but will be spending 4 more after we're done up North - so we'll do most of our sightseeing on our return swing through BKK. Thanx for all your advice! - carol

Highly recommend People in Touch (Seargent Kai) for Bangkok and all areas of Thailand.
