Almaty, Kazakhstan
 

Just came back from two weeks in Almaty, Kazakhstan. It is not enough time to explore everything, but I got to see the mountains. I really enjoyed Chimbulak, very accessible, especially with the new cable car. I am hoping to go back there again soon. Are there any people who have been there? Any suggestions of places to see? I did not get to see the Big Almaty Lake or Charyn. It was too hot and I was disabled for part of the trip due to an ankle sprain.

Any general advice or discussion?
