Forgot a big detail....looking for comfy airline to THAILAND

You have the airlines that go westbound, Bob and all the others will tell you about those. You also have those eastbound with non stops to their Gulf hubs and then onwards to Bangkok such as Emirates and Qatar Airways and Eithad. Emirates has a couple of flights from JFK each day, I think one is on the new A-380, they then have 3 a day from Dubai to Bangkok.
Qatar Airways also non stop from NYC ( not sure if JFK or EWR ) to Doha and onwards to Bangkok, both have good Coach/Economy service, seatback PTV etc etc.
Etihad via Abu Dhabi, not as good transit as new Dubai Emirates terminal but same quality service.

airlines to thailand:

depends somewhat on where you live..

thai air from LA
united
northwest
american
delta
ANA
eva
japan
korean
british air
air france
luftansa
emerites
cathy pacific
china air
air canada
singapore

my favorites are:
thai
air france
northwest
ANA
BA
cathy
emerites
singapore

listed in no special order....the best flight we ever had was on air france from boston-paris (all day stop)-bkk.....the long flights were all nite flights going and coming..

mostly we have travelled on northwest: boston-detroit-toyko-bkk---30 hours door to door

cost $1000-1500

I've been looking on all the discount sites. Emirates was among the shortest travel time and the prices were good.
If economy is comfy, it sounds like the way to go. Now here's the big question...I'm planning to go to Thailand in the beginning of July. When is the best time to book the trip to get the best prices.

debnyc - make sure you book the flight with the A-380 from JFK if you decide on Emirates, don't book the flight operated by 777 as the coach/economy seating on Emirates 777 is 10 across instead of the usual 9, this is just a weird thing with Emirates on thier 777's. Their 340 and 330 all have usual seating across, it's just their 777's that are not so good.
Do check Qatar Airways also and see what deals they offer.

hotel prices start to lower in april but may to oct 31 is the traditional low priced period...

airfares do not really vary very much during the year...there are the occasional sales however...i would book now

Thanks so much.
Qatar looked great and that airline rating sight was the best. I've bookmarked that for future ventures.
Now I'll put all my needs together, comfort, flying time and money and see who the lucky winner is....Emirates or Qatar.
