Airline Japan to Bangkok

Will be using FF Miles from LA to Tokyo on Delta, continuing on to Bangkok. Need some recommendations, best price, on airlines that fly into Bangkok.

Your best bet would be to continue on using Sky Team on a single award ticket all the way to Bangkok. NWA flies to BKK daily, departing in the late afternoon/early evening, arriving in BKK just before midnight.

For other choices, it won't likely be cheap. Best prices I've seen from Japanese consolidators, pay cash only, earn no miles, no change/cancellation without 100% penalty type tickets...is roundtrip 35,000 yen ($300.00 US about), and those tickets, though advertised a lot, are not available most of the time...only a few seats at that price. These tickets also tend to connect somewhere in between.

A more realistic price that you can expect to actually be able to purchase a seat will run you between 50,000 yen and up. Thai, JAL, NWA....off the top of my head, offer non-stop to BKK. There may be others. JAL and Thai have the best arrival times in BKK that I know of...in early afternoon. Their early departure times would mean you'd need to spend a night in NRT though.

If you purchase a ticket NRT-BKK-NRT separately from your award ticket, be sure to allow LOTS of time for the connection, because if you misconnect on separate itineraries it's your problem, not the airline's.

I agree with Kim, what's stopping you from usung your FF miles all the way to BKK?

The reason we can't use our FF Miles is because Delta doesn't fly to Bangkok. Thanks for all the info, will check out NWA, JAL and Thai

Just because Delta doesn't fly to BKK, doesn't mean that their partners don't.

Don't waste your money. Call Delta and inquire about an award from LA to BKK and I'm sure they will find a way to get you there, one way or another.
